5G is coming. The development of 5G technology is heating up and entering a critical period. What will 5G bring to us? What are Chinese companies and entrepreneurs doing in face of such a good opportunity? Dr. Wang Jianzhou, Former Chairman of China Mobile will share his insights with us about 5G and Innovation.

Dr. Wang Jianzhou is the Senior Advisor to GSMA. He is the former Executive Chairman of China Mobile.
In 2004, Dr. Wang joined China Mobile as the Chairman and CEO. He has been instrumental in steering the Group to become the leading mobile service provider in China. The mobile network has covered 99% of the population, including 77,000 remote villages, so even people in most remote rural areas can use mobile phones to communicate and get information. This is instrumental in improving the infrastructure and stimulating the rural economy, which bridged the digital divide between urban and rural areas. With the world's largest mobile network and mobile subscriber base, the Group won popular recognition and acclaim both at home and abroad.
Prior to joining China Mobile, Dr. Wang held a number of public offices, including the Director-General of the Department of General Planning of the Ministry of Information Industry. In 1999, Dr. Wang became the President and successively the Chairman of China Unicom.
Dr. Wang graduated from Zhejiang University with a Master's Degree in Engineering and holds a Doctoral Degree in Business Administration from Hong Kong Polytechnic University. A professor-level senior engineer with extensive knowledge and over 40 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, Dr. Wang is widely hailed as visionary and has been recognized globally of his accomplishments. In 2007, he was named by Business Week as one of the world's "Best CEOs of 2006". In 2008, he became the first Co-chair of the Chinese Nationality of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting. In 2010, he got the ITU World Telecommunication and Information Society Award.
